Platform Engineering · Managed Kubernetes foundation

Kubernetes Platform Sprint.

Establish a bounded, supportable Kubernetes foundation and a repeatable path for onboarding a representative workload.

Indicative timeline
3–5 weeks for a defined managed Kubernetes baseline and one workload onboarding path. Network, security approval and workload complexity affect the schedule.
Investment approach
Quoted after confirming environments, networking, add-ons, workload requirements and operating expectations. Cloud consumption, support plans and licenses are separate.

01 · Business challenge

The problem this package addresses

A Kubernetes cluster alone does not create a platform. Teams also need clear identity, networking, policy, deployment, observability and upgrade practices. This sprint implements a defined baseline and a sample workload path around the client’s operating requirements.

02 · What you get

Defined technical outcomes

  • A documented managed Kubernetes platform design covering cluster boundary, access, networking and operational responsibilities.
  • Infrastructure code and configuration for the selected baseline and agreed platform add-ons.
  • A deployment or GitOps workflow and onboarding example for one representative workload.
  • Observability, security and lifecycle guidance, including the agreed upgrade and support runbooks.

03 · Scope of work

Work included

  • Confirm workload requirements, availability expectations, networking, identity, data sensitivity and team operating model.
  • Design and implement a managed Kubernetes baseline (AKS, EKS, GKE or an agreed service), including node pools, network controls, access and policy integration.
  • Configure selected platform services such as ingress, secrets integration, telemetry and GitOps where required.
  • Deploy a representative workload through the agreed path and review health, access and operational procedures with the team.

04 · Acceptance

How completion is reviewed

Final acceptance checks are agreed in the statement of work before implementation. Typical checks include:

  • The cluster baseline and selected add-ons deploy using the documented and reviewable process.
  • A representative workload can be onboarded through the agreed deployment path and its health is visible in the selected telemetry.
  • The team receives access, upgrade, incident-triage and onboarding guidance for the delivered boundary.

05 · Delivery process

From discovery to handover

  1. DiscoverConfirm the target users, workload boundary, dependencies and acceptance conditions.
  2. DesignAgree the architecture decisions, delivery sequence, access model and implementation plan.
  3. Build and validateImplement the scoped work in the client environment and review it against the agreed checks.
  4. Hand overTransfer code, documentation, runbooks and ownership to the client team.

06 · Technical foundation

Tools and architecture

Managed Kubernetes platforms such as AKS, EKS or GKE; Terraform and provider-specific infrastructure tools; cloud identity integration; network policy; container registry integration; GitOps; ingress; secrets management; metrics, logs and upgrade practices.
