Enterprise AI · Bounded knowledge retrieval pilot

Enterprise RAG Pilot.

Validate one permission-aware knowledge retrieval use case with agreed sources, evaluation checks and a secure path to learn from a pilot.

Indicative timeline
3–5 weeks for one bounded use case and source set. Data access approvals, corpus quality and identity integration may affect timing.
Investment approach
Quoted after confirming source count, data volume, access requirements, user experience and evaluation depth. Model usage, storage and third-party services are separate.

01 · Business challenge

The problem this package addresses

A retrieval-augmented generation prototype can answer questions while still missing the access rules, source quality, evaluation and operational controls required for enterprise use. This pilot limits the problem to an agreed knowledge domain so the team can test usefulness and readiness with evidence.

02 · What you get

Defined technical outcomes

  • A bounded RAG architecture and data-flow description for the selected use case.
  • A pilot implementation connecting the agreed source set, retrieval configuration and model endpoint.
  • An evaluation set and recorded checks for retrieval relevance, groundedness, citations and access boundaries as agreed.
  • A findings report, known limitations and recommendation for stopping, iterating or planning production hardening.

03 · Scope of work

Work included

  • Choose one user group, question pattern and a limited set of source content with clear ownership and permission rules.
  • Design and implement ingestion, indexing, retrieval and model orchestration for the agreed pilot boundary.
  • Add identity-aware access controls where supported by the sources and design; otherwise document the pilot’s access limitations.
  • Build representative evaluation checks, instrument the pilot and review results with users and technical owners.

04 · Acceptance

How completion is reviewed

Final acceptance checks are agreed in the statement of work before implementation. Typical checks include:

  • The pilot handles the agreed evaluation examples and records retrieval, citation and response observations.
  • Access boundaries and known gaps are tested or explicitly documented before broader exposure.
  • The client receives deployment notes, evaluation assets, limitations and a production-readiness recommendation.

05 · Delivery process

From discovery to handover

  1. DiscoverConfirm the target users, workload boundary, dependencies and acceptance conditions.
  2. DesignAgree the architecture decisions, delivery sequence, access model and implementation plan.
  3. Build and validateImplement the scoped work in the client environment and review it against the agreed checks.
  4. Hand overTransfer code, documentation, runbooks and ownership to the client team.

06 · Technical foundation

Tools and architecture

Cloud-hosted model access across Azure, AWS and Google Cloud; retrieval and indexing; an approved vector or search service; cloud identity and service permissions; private connectivity where required; application integration; evaluation datasets, telemetry and cost visibility.
